Congratulations to our Head Girl Team for the 2024-25 academic year. Abi White (left) will serve as our Head Girl, while Shauna Traynor (right) will serve as Deputy Head Girl for 2024-25.
One of the highest accolades in Scoil Chríost Rí is to be appointed to serve as one of the Head Girl team. Our current team consists of two outstanding 6th Year students, Abi and Shauna, who were selected for the prestigious roles of Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl. Following a highly competitive interview process, they demonstrated the qualities and leadership skills required to represent the student body, showing that they are truly deserving of these positions.
Each Head Girl represents the student body at events, assemblies and many other annual gatherings. She epitomises the perfect role model for her fellow students and each year our Head Girl serves as a wonderful representative for the values we espouse at Scoil Chríost Rí.
Some thoughts and words from our Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl:
Abi:
Having the honour and privilege of being Head Girl is to me the most rewarding way to conclude my time here at Scoil Chríost Rí. The role encapsulates our school motto of Attendance, Attitude and Attainment as well as our CEIST values of respect, compassion, and justice. While it may be me and our wonderful Deputy Head Girl Shauna who step into this role and wear the badge, it is through each girl in the school that makes it possible. Our role is to represent every voice in the school and to let them be heard no matter how quiet or loud because each one makes the difference, and each one matters.
The honour of Head Girl also means to be a role model for every student and to create a safe and welcoming school environment for all. Scoil Chríost Rí is a place where we all belong, and alongside Shauna, our Principal Mr. Smyth and all our management team, I am excited to create initiatives to make this school even more of an equal and loving place for all, this academic year.
I am beyond grateful and honoured to be Head Girl in my final year at Scoil Chríost Rí. As I follow the path I lead today, paved by the past Head Girl teams, I hope to make each girl realise their true potential and importance, here at Scoil Chríost Rí.
Shauna:
The opportunity to fulfil the role of Deputy Head Girl is a great privilege for me. To represent what it means to be a student of Scoil Chríost Rí and to be seen as a role model for younger students fills me with a profound sense of pride.
I look forward to the academic year ahead alongside the fabulous Head Girl Abi. Together with our principal and all of the management of our school we cannot wait to share new ideas and discuss events that may be happening. I truly hope that alongside Abi we can continue to create a welcoming environment for every single student who steps through the doors of our school.
I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to step into this role alongside Abi, following in the footsteps of the remarkable girls who came before us. It is their legacy that has paved the way for us, and we are honoured to continue the tradition they have set.
