Congratulations to our Head Girl Team for the 2026-27 academic year. Maeve Kelly (middle) will serve as our Head Girl, while Myah Walker (right) and Emma Sheeran (left) will serve as Deputy Head Girls for 2026-27.
One of the highest accolades in Scoil Chríost Rí is to be appointed to serve as one of the Head Girl team. Our current team consists of three outstanding 6th Year students, Maeve, Myah and Emma, who were selected for the prestigious roles of Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl. Following a highly competitive interview process, they demonstrated the qualities and leadership skills required to represent the student body, showing that they are truly deserving of these positions.
Each Head Girl represents the student body at events, assemblies and many other annual gatherings. She epitomises the perfect role model for her fellow students and each year our Head Girl serves as a wonderful representative for the values we espouse at Scoil Chríost Rí.

Maeve Kelly - Head Girl
It is an honour to have been selected as this year's Head Girl. I am delighted to be given the opportunity to be Scoil Chriost Rí's ambassador and work alongside our two Deputy Head Girls, Emma Sheeran, and Myah Walker. I am really looking forward to working with Mr. Smyth, Ms Dollard, Ms. Bailey, and the rest of our school leadership team in the year ahead.
To say this role means everything to me is an understatement. I am genuinely so grateful for the chance to give back to the school, which has given both myself and all the other young women here so much over the years. I hope and intend to support, listen and speak on behalf of every single member of this school to help girls feel more included, represented and heard. As the Head Girl Team, we will work tirelessly to create a positive and warm environment where the SCR values of Spirit, Commitment, and Resilience are shown every day. Our goal is to foster moments of kindness, inclusivity, and empathy and to nurture a sense of belonging in every single girl. As Venerable Nano Nagle said “Not words but deeds” Myah, Emma and I will do everything we can to bring out the very best of what we all are in SCR. I am so proud to be the representative of a brilliant community of young women.
We aim to lead younger students down a path that reflects the CEIST values of our school, that will stand to them both during and after their school years. We are delighted to embody the student voice, represent you, and cultivate all the positive values of our school.
Myah Walker – Deputy Head Girl Seniors
It is a great honour to take on the role of Senior Deputy Head Girl of Scoil Chríost Rí, alongside our Head Girl, Maeve and Junior Deputy Head Girl, Emma. As someone who has always admired and been inspired by the Head Girl team in our school, it truly is a privilege to be a part of the team and have the chance to hopefully inspire other young leaders.
To me, leadership is not simply about having a position or being the person at the front. It is about setting a positive example, taking responsibility, listening to others, and having the confidence to speak up when it matters.
As Senior Deputy Head Girl, I hope to lead with kindness, fairness and respect, while also encouraging others to believe in themselves and have the confidence to use their own voices.
I am really looking forward to working closely with the Head Girl team, Mr Smyth, our teachers and school management. I believe that strong leadership comes from teamwork, and that by supporting each other and listening to different ideas, we can make a meaningful difference within our school.
I know that this role comes with responsibility, and I am ready to take on that challenge. I want to be someone students can rely on, whether they need support, encouragement or simply someone to listen. Most importantly, I want to represent every student in Scoil Chríost Rí and help create a school where everyone feels heard, valued and included.
I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited for the year ahead. I hope that through our leadership, we can inspire others to get involved, support one another, and make Scoil Chríost Rí a place where every student feels proud to belong.
Emma Sheeran – Deputy Head Girl Juniors
It is truly an honour to be chosen as the Junior Cycle Deputy Head Girl for the coming school year. This role means more to me than just a personal achievement. It represents a school community that values strong female leadership and encourages every single student to reach her full potential.
Having been inspired by the amazing Head Girl teams that came before me, I strive to be an open and welcoming presence for all students, particularly those in the junior cycle. As Junior Cycle Deputy Head Girl, my role centres around supporting and encouraging the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students to push themselves to achieve their personal best, whether that be in the classroom, on the sports field or beyond the school gates. I hope to be a positive role model for the younger students, encouraging them to believe in their own abilities and potential.
Scoil Chriost Ri is a school that values kindness and compassion above all else, and this is an ethos that resonates with me deeply. I want to help foster a community where everyone treats one another with the utmost respect and dignity. I look forward to working closely with Head Girl Maeve, Deputy Head Girl Myah, as well as Mr. Smyth, Ms Dollard, Ms Bailey and the rest of the school community throughout the coming year.
I am very excited to see what this year will bring, and I am immensely honoured to represent a school that has shaped me into the confident young woman I am today. I hope to play my part in ensuring that every student feels welcomed, supported and proud to be a part of the Scoil Chriost Ri community, and I look forward to a year centred on kindness, compassion and unity.
