SCRibbles
SCRibbles is our school's stationary shop. It is open at lunchtime 2 or 3 days per week and stocks everything from pens to folders to flashcards.
Every year, a committee of 3rd year students operates this enterprise under the guidance of our business teachers. They meet to run and promote the shop. Each member sells at least once per week. Students have fun and have the chance to put classroom learning into practice, learning valuable skills such as stock control and marketing.
In 2024, in addition to our stationary scop, the SCRibbles Committee established their own mini enterprise and entered the Laois Student Enterprise Competition.
In the last school term, 2nd years are invited to express their interest by filling in an application form. They are then interviewed by a business teacher, gaining valuable interview skills along the way. We look forward to working with the next group of enterprising 3rd years.
Mini Company Club
Each September, students are invited to join Mini Company Club; we have one club for 1st years (Juniors) and another for 2nd and 3rd years (Intermediates).
Each club meets one day per week at lunchtime where students form teams to establish their own Mini Enterprise, they can also work solo and establish an enterprise on their own.
The companies then market their products and sell at our annual Christmas Fair to the whole school community. 6 companies from each club are selected to represent the school at the County Enterprise Finals in March.
There are student leaders guiding students throughout the entrepreneurial journey. Students gain monumental skills and experience, meet friends and have fun!
