It can be one of the most daunting and overwhelming events in their young lives to date but here at Scoil Chríost Rí we have everything in place to make even the most apprehensive incoming student to feel right at home.
A dedicated Assistant Principal works closely with all First Years on an induction program that covers absolutely everything that can and might cause worry for a new student. A Year Head is also appointed, while each student is also assigned a specific class tutor and two highly-trained Meitheal students who will quickly become the role models that our 1st Years turn to for support and guidance on a daily basis.
We have a pastoral care team and a teaching staff that has the best interests of each and every one of our students at the very front and centre of what we do here. We also have a unique student leadership program to help our 2nd Years too, so all students are assisted for the first two years by senior students who provide so much fun, support and compassion in these early years of secondary school life.
Throughout the year, refresher courses and check-ins are an integral part of the 1st Year calendar so all in all, the stresses and anxieties of starting in a large secondary school are generally alleviated very quickly and students can focus on enjoying their new journey in secondary school.
